Baptism

The Baptism preparation program is designed to help parents better understand the religious significance and meaning  during your child's Baptism ceremony. We will also equip you with some practical suggestions for raising your children in the Catholic Faith and tradition.

Prior to the Baptism, parents need to register for classes and provide a copy of the birth certificate to the office.  Godparents need to have received all sacraments of initiation – Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.  If married, they need to be married in the Catholic Church.

Classes are held monthly in Spanish and bi-monthly in English.

Marriage

Marriage is a beautiful gift from God to the couple and to the whole church. When Scripture talks about God's relationship with humanity, more often than not is through the analogy of a husband and wife. Jesus performed his first miracle at the wedding in Cana. There can be no doubt that God intended men and women to join together in marriage in order to cooperate with him in giving life to others and helping others appreciate his other gifts.

If you are interested in a Catholic Wedding at St. John the Baptist please call the Parish Office 281-331-3751 at a minimum of nine months before you set the wedding date.

First Reconciliation and First Communion

First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion – Holy Trinity ...

We offer formation for the reception of First Reconciliation and First Communion twice a year. Children are required to accomplish 1 year of year-round faith formation and be enrolled for their second year. This can be accomplished through our weekly programming or through our take-home faith formation experience.

Children from 2nd-5th grade are asked to participate in sacramental preparation in the spring of their second faith formation year. We currently use Our Sunday Visitor's sacramental program and you find their family resources by clicking here.

6th-12th grade students are asked to participate in the sacramental preparation in the fall of the their second year.

Parents, you are given a unique opportunity to learn more about their faith while your children are receiving formation. Our program also requires certain lessons to be done at home.
